Geo. Raper & Son, Inc. Announces Appreciation Open House for Strickland Family Home Project

Generosity of Local Businesses and Community Continues in Final Countdown

RALEIGH, NC – Geo. Raper & Son, Inc. (GR&S). is pleased to announce the final phase of the Strickland Family Home.  With just a few days remaining, the local business community and individuals are rallying to put the finishing touches on a home which has been rebuilt, after a tragic fire in 2006, through widespread generosity.  The Strickland Family Home completion date and an Appreciation Open House is set for Saturday February 2, from 11 am to 1 pm at 6009 Jordan Woods Drive in Raleigh.

Pam Strickland and her daughter Lauren Massey, along with son Curtis Jordan McCarty, will be presented with keys to their new home. All who have helped along the way are invited to gather at the house and celebrate what a community can accomplish when businesses, organizations and individuals work together. 

GR&S, Inc. will continue to take inquiries from those offering services and donated items for the home.  “Even in the final weeks, we have received amazing offers from business and community groups, as well as individuals,” said Steve Raper, vice president of GR&S, Inc.  “The response we received in the initial days following some helpful news stories has remained strong, and we can’t begin to describe the difference each person has made.  The house is essentially done, and now it is all those finishing, extra nice things that people are doing to make a physical structure feel a bit more like home.”

GR&S, Inc. has been working on the Strickland Family Home Project for approximately 10 months, with the help of many others.
