Geo. Raper & Son, Inc. Celebrates 35 Years of Business and Recognizes Three Employees with the Foundation Award

RALEIGH (October 23, 2007) – Geo. Raper & Son, Inc. (GR&S, Inc.) celebrates 35 years of business by putting three employees in the spotlight with the establishment of a Foundation Award.  The recipients of the Foundation Award were Rick Skinner for 20 years of service, Nate Ralph for 17 years of service, and Ken Thompson for 17 years of service.

The Foundation Award was created to recognize individuals who have exemplified the principles on which GR&S was founded: integrity, efficiency and day-to-day customer satisfaction. Recipients of the award have upheld the principles of GR&S while repeatedly demonstrating good character, a strong work ethic, and dedication to the projects they have been involved in over the years.

The awards were presented by George Raper, president and owner of GR&S, Inc., and Steve Raper, vice president. “Rick, Nate, and Ken are hard workers and core members of the team we’ve built through the years,” said George Raper. “We are fortunate to have people like this working with us every day.”

“Our company is based on a strong foundation and solid standards,” said Steve Raper.  “Therefore, establishing a Foundation Award was the most appropriate way for us to celebrate our 35th anniversary.”

GR&S originated in 1972 as a family business in Elizabeth City, NC and has corporate headquarters located in Raleigh. GR&S operates as an unlimited, unclassified contractor with specialized expertise in utilities.
